My weakest link on this workout was pain in my feet of all things. All along the edge, almost like they were stretched too far? It happens to me a lot during burpee workouts, and I really wish I could figure out how to stop it. You can see my feet are definitely bugging me in this video. Oh well! My biggest hurdle was breakfast as I tend to pick something up. So far, I’ve eaten from template for breakfast 7 days! I’m saving money and calories. 30 Days of Yoga, Day 23 by #yogawithadrienne Today's SP Program A: As I was putting on my shoes, I was listening to the IGTV @fearlessmiranda posted about making sure you're getting the intended stimulus from a workout. I had a moment of realization that, at some point, I stopped feeling intimidated by the work in Program A and was actually excited to do those workouts. At some point, I found myself casually using 20 # DBs and doing box jumps (a lot of this was friendly peer pressure from @johanna_fitness33 and I'm deeply thankful to count her as a friend ). Assessing where you are and whether you're getting the right thing from the workout is so important to keep progressing. When I joined SP 10 months ago, I anxious about every workout and felt like it would take me forever to "get strong". I'm still not at the RX level for most of the workouts, but I'm a hell of a lot closer. I am stronger and fitter than I've ever been. And, tbh, I think I'm a lot more confident in myself in the rest of my life too. Anyway. I used 20 # DBs for the hang power cleans and the press, and a 16" box for the box jump overs. Haven’t posted a video in a while because, well honestly, they’ve been sorta pathetic.... • My shoulder/left arm is still giving me problems. It doesn’t hurt anymore (thank goodness ) but it’s extremely weak and I do t have my full range of motion back. Which has been a big mental struggle for me. • I started off the workout with only 15lb kettlebells for the shoulder to overhead presses....but even that was too much of a struggle for my left arm to get above my head 😩🤦🏻♀️. So I ultimately had to drop down to 10lb dbs...🙄😭. Makes me feel super weak 😔. • It is what it is, I know I’ll get it back eventually...I’m just impatient 🤷🏻♀️ at least it’s done. I'm bacccck! The garage and my work outs are my place to de-stress and recharge. It helps me bethe best version of myself. It started to become more of a task to get out there and I was feeling mentally and physically exhausted. My get a away, my stress relief couldn't become a negative place so I took 3 days to recharge and then yesterday the Mini was sick so cuddles were needed all day (the best medicine )! 4 days off and some off template eating but it was much needed! I like to video myself and watch a playback to see how my movements were.. i think i did pretty good! I really enjoyed the total body DB warm-up! Ya girl has finally gotten over her fear of box jumps two and a half years later! Sometime yesterday I decided I was gonna attempt jumps for the first time ever and I did them! Maybe two and half years from now I'll try it on 20 inches 😆, this is 16. When I was initially diagnosed with MS and my balance was extra bad I remember thinking "this is my now my excuse for refusing to jump" lmao. Sidenote: I now have a real camera and not filming on my phone but obviously I don't know how to use it since it's dark, but at least it made my @unleashed .nyc shirt pop!

I’m not a morning person. Something I’ve told myself everyday for as long as I can remember. I’m not even kidding. Even if I get up early, I’m not physically awake until 9 am, sometimes later. I’ve always wanted to wake up early, be super chipper, workout and do all the things but could never get my ish together in the morning. Then I had Matthew and getting up early wasn’t a question anymore. But I found myself using him as my alarm clock, waking up and being exhausted, still!! The past few weeks (not every day because I’m a work in progress ) I have been waking up BEFORE Matthew wakes up and boy has it really changed the game for me. My morning routine is forever changed. I go downstairs, have some “quiet” time to myself, read and enjoy a cup of coffee without it being spilled by a swift kick and check some of my other morning self care items off the list. I’ve found by doing this, I’m a better mom when he wakes up and honestly feel like a morning person. This past week, I’ve even gotten my workout in before starting my work day and I’ve noticed my whole demeanor and mood for the day is completely different. Stuck in a rut or need a change? I was feeling super stressed. How was I going to get my workout in, bill my hours, get normal household chores done, run a business and be a good mom and wife. It felt like I was always coming up short day to day in one or more areas. Moral of the story - change your morning, change your life, seriously. The miracle morning is legit - order the book or just get up early and make a shift in your day. Post MORNING workout flex with my man “showing his muscles.”
**What does “control your fitness” mean to me?** The three in this picture is what it means to me! • • The meaning of “control your fitness” has definitely changed in the last 7 years. At first it was all about how I looked and trying my hardest to be the fastest in the gym. I didn’t care to much about my health at the time. Then We had our twin boys(best thing to happen to me. And I totally mean that because I didn’t know my purpose in life before them ). The first few years of their life I was living with a bad flare up of ulcerative colitis and my energy level was way low. But I didn’t care, still didn’t exercise or eat semi proper. Once my kids started moving around I would be even more tired. I had told my wife in the beginning that whenever the boys asked me to do something with them, I couldn’t say no because I was “too tired”. I just thought it wasn’t fair for my kids to want to play with me yet I’m too tired. So I had went back to the gym and noticed the increase in energy. Well I lived to far and it was to much money, until a friend of mine told me to sign up for @streetparking . And now “control your fitness” to me was for a way better purpose. • • Now “control your fitness” means do what I can to take control of my body. To help with my ulcerative colitis so I can go out and play with my boys when they want! I’m getting 30-45 minutes of elevating my heart rate 6 days a week, and that is enough for me to do the things I want and what my kids want to do! This one is for the one who told me my shorts were too short. It was inappropriate. . And the one who said I need to cover my belly better. I'm not a fitness model. No one "needs" to see that. . [Newsflash: I never once even implied I remotely THOUGHT I was a fitness model of the society approved type, let alone acted as one] . I can't forget the ones trying to sell me their wiggle-jiggle creams. Their cellulitebegone potions. . And the ones who called it gross, and said put some clothes on. . If my body, or any body makes you feel uncomfortable? Look inward. . Because it isn't our bodies that are the issue. . You need to do some deep down thinking and healing. . And you know what? If someone isn't your type? Do you know what you absolutely do NOT need to do? . TELL them that they aren't. No words need to be spoken. . It just makes you look like garbage. . And I'm not talking about the upcycled kind either. I'm talking the kind that hits the compactor, and gets pressed & squeezed into a tiny box. And oozes shit, and goo, and stink everywhere. . I will keep focusing on fueling my body to lift, try to manage my PCOS, and deal with being on the outskirts of menopause. . And I will keep wearing my shorty shorts because I can move in them. . Cellulite, all the rest, be damned.
Since May I have been working on losing some body fat. I went from 148-151lb (my easy to maintain weight ) to 139-142lb on average in the am. I have been more intentional about my choices, tracked my macros, drastically reduced alcohol consumption, and have been super consistent with workouts. I’ve made decent progress. Now in an effort to correct, or at least improve my #hypothyroidism and newly diagnosed iron deficiency status I have increased my calories to a maintenance level and will scale back intensity on my workouts...so fat loss is on the back burner for a bit. Scaling back is hard for me to do because part of me thinks “what’s the point” but I know the point is to keep putting in the reps. These are easy fixes and common problems for premenopausal active women especially. Exercise is a non-negotiable for me so even if I can’t do it exactly how I was to do it, I will keep doing something. Really putting the eat in the EatLiftRunYoga lately... . Lookin' like a drumstick waiting to get breaded, and fried up. . Feeling like I'm finally ready to take on the world. . World of online coaching that is. . Yep. I'm officially all set up to do online personal training. Only 5 years late, but I suppose it's better late than never, right? . Right after having my son, I was gonna make the shift. Keep my my momentum going that I'd built in the years before. . But someone I followed at the time had posted asking if the internet were to die the next day, would you still have a job (a jab at online trainers ). . That stuck with me. I let it hold me back. . Earlier this year, before everything went to hell in a handbasket... I had begun working out details of expanding my training business. . Some classes going again. More personal training clients. Get Fit Fridays for Mental Health up and running. And I knew the online world was where I needed to look to accomplish that. . I was already doing "local remote" training. Setting up clients with 4-12wk plans for them to do at home, or the gym, and check in with me regularly. . Then everything went bonkers and I had to pause. Again. . Then I got FF4MH up and going.
