Creating content is absolutely ESSENTIAL for your business. Take a look around at anyone who’s killing it in the online space and you’ll see they’re consistently sharing high value content. One thing that holds back so many of my clients is the false belief that they have nothing original or unique to share. Good thing they’ve got me on their team to help bust through that mindset block and now I’m gonna do that for you too. Guess what? Creating great content has nothing to do with being completely unique or original. There’s probably a million posts out there about dealing with sugar cravings, but the way to make your post stand out is by sharing your personal story and perspective. The thing that’s unique and original is YOU and that’s why infusing your personality and stories into your content is what makes it different and memorable. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself. Not every piece of content needs to be the most insightful and inspirational thing you’ve ever written. If feeling like you have nothing original to share is holding you back big time, I highly recommend you check out the book “Steal Like an Artist” by Austin Kleon! Now share a link to a favorite piece of content you’ve written in the comments below 💕
FAT FUELED BREKKIE. Not the prettiest picture, but I’ve been loving some combo of this recently 👉🏻 sautéed veggies (pictured here purple cabbage and yellow squash ), fried eggs, and avocado. . . This is probably one of the easiest ways to use up any leftover veggies in the fridge that may be reaching the end of their life, & I’ve never met a combo I didn’t like. Okay, maybe not sautéed cucumber 🥒🤔. . . I’ve also been getting reacquainted with my cast iron skillet and making crispy fried eggs is SO 😋 YUM. I go through spurts of using it because 1. It’s HEAVY, and 2. Depending on what/how you cook in it, it can be a pain to clean. But I’m back on the bandwagon for now. Plus, cooking in cast iron has the added benefit of a little boost of iron to my meals - and this is especially helpful for any pregnant or postpartum mamas 🤰 👶🏻.
Have you ever been told to eat when your hungry and stop when you are full? That goes for babies too! . The reason the “2 hour” advice is a problem is that so many breastfeeding 🤱 rules can damage a women's breastfeeding journey. It can cause her to feel she is doing something wrong if the baby wants to eat more often or less often. There is a caveat to this... some babies who are very sleepy (which can happen for many reasons especially after birth ) or who are struggling to gain weight may need to be encouraged to nurse at least every 2 hours. Also, if you are pumping, this 2 hour rule may be helpful to keep your supply going. For individual questions/concerns, please seek support early and often! So how do you know when a baby is hungry? ✅ Hands in mouth, rooting, lip smacking, rooting ✅ Crying can often be a late sign of hunger. Of course babies can also cry for many other reasons, including the need to be held. How do you know when a baby is full? ✅ Turns away from breast/bottle ✅ Relaxes fists How often should babies eat? Babies have very small tummies. As newborns, they will need to often. Breastmilk is digested very well which is why many nursing moms feel like "a 24/7 buffet." Many babies will also cluster feed too which means they may want to eat off and on over the course of a few hours. Many moms may interpret this as meaning they are not making enough milk but this is very common and normal especially in the early months. As babies get older, they can go longer periods of time without feeding. This will all vary depending on the baby. If you are concerned about your milk supply, it's important to seek support. Check out sites like La Leche League, WIC, Kelly Mom for more information. Any additional resources people found helpful? Share below! #worldbreastfeedingweek

Tofu with spicy curry sauce and a celebratory weekend of pool and games to remember 🥟🌴 - Here’s a fun tip: if you’re picking up take-out, get a bowl when you get home. Serve yourself what you feel like and save the rest as leftovers later. - Portion sizes served by restaurants are way way more than we’d normally cook or what our body actually needs for a single meal occasion. - When there’s a takeout box with Asian food in front of us, we tend to just finish the whole thing, regardless of feeling satisfied or full. - The serving dish truly matters. Getting a normal sized bowl makes all the difference! Let’s get a bowl and be in control of the portion size 🥢 - #eatwellfeelwell #health #clinicalnutrition #plantbased #rdeats #dietitian #fitlife #eatyourveggies #healthyeats #rdlife #nutritionist #healthcare #realfood #rd #wholefood #haveaplant #healthvibes #eatright #plantpower #icu #nutrition #asianfood #tofu

What if you didn't have to be perfect... or even always improving? What if you didn't need an Instagrammable life or a side hustle or two handfuls of apps dedicated to gratitude & self-mastery? • As much as this book focuses on the white cisgendered financially able & able-bodied woman, I think this is a message we all need in a media-saturated world. To dial back and find more of what we actually like instead of pursuing an image and a personality to suit others. • And you can now catch me "yeah no not happening" to answering my phone after 4:30pm - with minimal exceptions of course for family & friends 💕 (also peep our friends & their amazing bookmarks/ART ) • #rdlife #dietitianlife #rd #wellness #foodfreedom #nutrition #foodexploration #health #intuitiveeating #haes #dietitian #youdoyou #selfcare #sayyestonourish #yeahnonothappening

Naked truth pic: There is like a bubble of inflammation at the top of my knees, sitting on top of inflammation. Hurt doesn't describe the pain, it's too kind of a word. My nerves are restricted up and down my leg. Straightening my leg is a joke. Bending my leg beyond a point is def laughable. This is what RA/RD does. There is no sugarcoating it. In honor of World Breastfeeding Week 🤱, I am sharing common myths about breastfeeding! Myth 1: Mom must eat a super healthy diet for her milk to be healthy. Truth: With the exception of vitamin D, which is easy to supplement, breast milk contains everything your baby needs for proper development during the first 6 months. In fact, did you know that a mother’s diet has little influence on her milk? Poor diet will affect mom before it affects baby. We know that based partly on research looking at breastfeeding women during wars or famine. So don't feel bad if you are surviving on cold pizza 🍕 and granola bars 🍪 for those first few weeks. Hopefully, you'll be able to have healthy meals to nourish yourself but don't worry about it hurting your baby. Any foods mom should avoid? - Excessive caffeine (don't worry you can still have your cup(s ) of coffee, mama! ), alcohol (within limits ), high mercury fish, certain high allergy foods on a case by case basis (eg dairy ). I will be sharing myths throughout the week, so let me know below (or by DM ) if there's a particular question you'd like me to address.
BRUNCHIN’. Enjoyed a delicious meal at @nourishcafemarket with the baby and hubs after our morning (mostly masked ) walk around Stephen’s Lake park this morning. Scarlett only wore her “mask” (aka bib ) for the purposes of the picture 😆. I got the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs, cashew cream greens, roasted purple sweet potatoes, and house made toast, and the “detoxifier” drink. Nom 😋

COBB SALAD with roasted chickpeas (since someone ate the leftover chicken for lunch today @take_a_bauche 😜 ). I think Kyle is planning to avoid salads for a while after eating them for basically two weeks straight haha. But this one had all the goods on top of a bed of (wilted ) lettuce, broccoli, and cucumber. Simple and delicious. Just the way I like my Friday night dinners. 😋

Do you ever experience that 2-3pm weekday slump? When the afternoons start to wind down but there’s still SO MUCH left of the work day.... it’s a point when many people find they have less energy than any other part of the day. A few adjustments in your meal planning routine can help with those mid-day slumps. . Here are some tips to keep yourself full of energy during those long hours: ⭐️have a power snack: get yourself a power snack for some quick energy 💪🏽 pair a carb (🍎🥦🥒🍑 ) with a protein (🧀🍳🥜 ) for a burst of energy that will keep you going until dinner time. ⭐️lower-fat lunch: fat is the largest molecule & is the slowest to digest. Typically after eating high fat foods we feel sleepy because our bodies are working hard to process that meal. ⭐️hydration: make sure you’re still drinking your water by the afternoon! Dehydration leads to fatigue. Find a way to increase water / tea, or have a snack with high water content (🍅🥒🥥 ) during those sluggish hours. . 8 hours left till my dietetic internship is completed! Happy to announce that this somehow miraculously happened 100% in person, all 1200+ hours 👩🏼⚕️ - I’ve been trying to reflect a bit today, and here’s a list of few random things I’ve learned: - ▫️ guidelines and research are everything; recommendations may change with the next big study or unknown virus changing everything we think we know ▫️ puddings and jellos have reputation for a reason; can’t mess that up and haven’t met a patient that didn’t like strawberry jello ▫️ 99% veterans don’t like seafood and fish ▫️ as much fun as playing puzzle with patient cases is - it’s also someone’s life, someone’s father, someone’s wife, and with this realization comes a pretty heavy responsibility: be sure about your recommendations ▫️ death, horrible disease states and patients not wanting to get better are just part of life, can’t dwell on that ▫️Propofol can really get annoying with SO MUCH LIPID KCAL ▫️ nurses know everything ▫️ all projects you’re given can really matter if you want them to; it’s not there just to check boxes ▫️ just because there’s “no time” doesn’t mean you can’t make adjustments to make time ▫️ finding answers to your own questions and asking preceptors a last resort turned out to be the perfect balance ▫️ sitting next to a patient rather than standing is a magic trick for better conversations ▫️smiling with eyes is a thing 👀 ▫️graphic design skills are an incredible priceless asset and so is Canva lol ▫️eating 3 meals a day and exercise is a must ▫️ working in a hospital strangely makes you less afraid of ‘rona, but respecting precautions and hygiene a lot more ▫️there’s nothing like making recs for an intubated patient and then having a conversation when they get better .... Yeah. Inpatient clinical nutrition is literally a calling for some of us 👩🏼⚕️🤍 - #eatwellfeelwell #health #clinicalnutrition #plantbased #rdeats #dietitian #fitlife #eatyourveggies #healthyeats #rdlife #nutritionist #healthcare #realfood #rd #wholefood #haveaplant #healthvibes #eatright #plantpower #icu #nutrition

Can you do both: accept insurance & sell a la carte services AND killer programs to help ensure your client’s success? ⠀ ⠀ Absolutely. ⠀ ⠀ 🙌 In my group reimbursement coaching program, I teach dietitians exactly how to leverage accepting insurance while simultaneously selling packages & services. ⠀ ⠀ Many dietitians think they have to choose between one or the other. ⠀ ⠀ But that is NOT the case. ⠀ ⠀ I have been selling packages since my very first year of accepting insurance. ⠀ ⠀ You might be thinking is shit is even legal? Hell yeah, it is. ⠀ ⠀ I promise. Orange doesn’t look good on me. I am more of a pastel-type gal. ⠀ ⠀ Dietitians do this all the damn time. ⠀ ⠀ 👏 So, who’s ready to integrate insurance into your already self-pay model to maximize your revenue? ⠀ ⠀ Kinda like a no-brainer, right? ⠀ ⠀ 👉 Click the link in my bio to schedule a FREE discovery call. ⠀ ⠀ This is a no-pressure call where I assess based on your long-term goals whether my reimbursement coaching program may be a good fit for your (future ) practice. ⠀ ⠀ Insurance has been a game-changer for my practice. You’re so much more than just a business owner. 🌿Being an entrepreneur isn’t what defines you. 🌿Being a mom isn’t what defines you. 🌿Your weight or appearance doesn’t define you. Yet what I see all too often in my clients is a tendency to base their feelings of worth and happiness on external factors they can’t control. They get a new client and feel on top of the world. Then a week goes by with no discovery calls booked and they feel like crap. This happens in health coaching too. I’m sure we can all think of clients who have a great day when the scale says a certain number and a terrible day when they’re a couple pounds over. This is not a healthy way to live your life or run your business. It’s so easy to see that in the health related example, but I can’t tell you how many times I have this same conversation with clients. Let me be clear. The # of followers you have on social media, # of clients you have at any given time, or monthly income you make are not a measure of your success or worthiness. Feeling happy and worthy is an internal job and you can choose to feel it right NOW! It doesn’t come from hitting an arbitrary milestone. 🦄You can be the best, happiest and most magical version of yourself NOW and that starts with getting clear on who that person is. ⭐️So tell me, what 5 words describe the best version of yourself?

Hi there 👋🏼 When I first started this Instagram page my followers were mostly friends and family so I didn’t have to introduce myself, but now there are a lot more friends who’ve joined the page! If you’ve never met me, my name is Luis and I am a Registered Dietitian and now food photographer. I started this page as a way to keep a portfolio and to document my journey in photography, as well as to share some delicious food. See, around me I was noticing that people where losing their connection to food. Food is not just about health, it also represents culture and social relationships, and I believe that through exposure to food, we can reconnect with ourselves. Beyond loving pictures of food and being a total nutrition science nerd, I am also proudly Cuban 🇨🇺 and proudly queer 🏳️🌈, and I am an advocate for marginalized communities to have a better seat at the table. I hope you continue to follow my journey and maybe even get a little hungry along the way 😄

👑I wasn’t always confident 👑I didn’t always believe in myself 👑I started just like you confused and unsure what to do When I started my online business, I was scared to fail. I knew I wanted it, and would never give up. It felt like pushing a boulder up a hill for 2+ years. It was hard at times. I don’t sugar coat that, but I understood it was gonna be a process of learning and personal growth. It was years of putting one foot in front of the other and building skills that have now given me way more options than I could have imagined. Skills built my brand. My ability to teach. My resilience. My competence. Competence then builds confidence. Keep pushing the boulder up the hill. I promise once you hit the top of the mountain, it starts rolling on its own and you’ll take great pride in what you’ve built. xoxo Sarah
